Returning faulty CD

I bought a music cd from eBay in August. It has developed a fault and won't play properly. Is it reasonable to ask for an exchange?

Have you tried cleaning it?
But to answer your question I would not ask for an exchange and I doubt you would get one, but you can ask and see what the response is.0 -
I think you will find most companies will not exchange or give a refund for CD's once they have been opened or used.0

What have you got to lose asking?
It is not as if you are asking for them to replace it with something else, you are asking for the exact thing back, so you are not trying to diddle them.
I cannot see a problem with it TBH. You are not asking for a refund.0 -
Was this a private seller or a business?
I can't think of how a CD would become (inherently) faulty if it worked in the first place - are you sure it has not been scratched or needs cleaning?0
