Landlord selling building, constant viewings for six months - what are our rights?

Even if they followed what was in your contract the amount would seem to be unreasonable to me. I would try the friendly approach first, if this fails then a sterner letter reiterating that you feel the lack of notice is not on and also the number of visits is unacceptable and that you will permit viewings at x,y,z time or days. If this fails then yes you would need to change the locks. The landlord may say you are being unfair but I would say they are the ones being unreasonable. At the end if the day they are then left with several choices. 1) they work with you and do viewings when you are happy. 2) there are no viewings and they leave you in peace but accept they are gettubg rent money or 3)they give you notice and ask you to leave. Of course they could do option 4) and take you to court but there would be little point in this as firstly they don't appear to be being reasonable and secondly it would be easier to just ask you to leave and walk all over the next tenant

It's a horrible situation to be in. Nobody wants to change the locks but it may be necessary. I hope you can come to somr sort of compromise/ solution.
It will probably, in the end be easier for you to give notice and find a better landlord.
