Problem with Delight Mobile SIM showing 'roaming'

I have a Delight Mobile SIM which I am using in a Moto G. I have tried all the settings but the card insists on showing roaming here in the UK.

This causes the data to stop working because the phone thinks that it is data roaming which will incur extra costs. I can override this by allowing foreign roaming but this is not a satisfactory solution.

There is an option within the menu choices which accesses the Delight SIM tool-kit function. This allows for setting of whether the SIM is being used abroad or in the UK. Even with the setting of UK and all the APN settings made correctly it still does not work properly.

If I switch the phone to flight mode and back again the data works fine with a H+ and no roaming showing. However, after maybe 30 minutes the thing will revert to showing a R for roaming and the foreign data warning pops up again. The SIM produces exactly the same problematic operation when used in a friends Voda Smart Ultra 6.

Has anyone come across this before and can suggest a cure? I have spoken to Delight and the best they can suggest is to send out another SIM, for which I am still waiting.

I had the same problem in October when I took the £10unlimited everything bundle, called the CS but they were useless, send twits on twitter but they said to call the CS.

So I bin the sim and took the EE 100GB offer for now, and I must say I did not find any problems so far,

    Vectone CS is very bad.

My delight sim also says it is roaming, but i have never been charged roaming rates, just turn off roaming warnings on your phone and all will be fine

what netwrok is Delight using? Im thinking either tmob / orange. and when the handset flicks over to either a old orange, or tmobile site, the roaming indicator is there. even tho as we know, they are both ee. but the site hardwares still refer to old network codes 30 and 33.

Delight use the EE network, as you say it could be an old Orange or T-Mobile mast or even a new EE one, if there are any!

My previous SIM (a micro version) used to flick over to roaming so I had to use the dodge specified above of turning off roaming warnings. We frequently use cross Channel ferries so had to be careful which network it landed on just after leaving the UK.

Since my new nano SIM arrived (see post in other Delight thread) the roaming 'bug' seems to have gone and everything works like every other UK SIM. Maybe the newer SIMs have had a change that makes them work better in UK.

Basically all networks have their own 5/6 digit code.

It's basically their country then a code for that network.
    E.G. O2 is 234-10 with 234 being for the UK and 10 only O2.

Delight use 234-01 rather that 234-30 or 234-33 for EE
Most virtual networks use their host network code.

To your phone, it looks like your roaming on EE...

As above you are using Orange and T-Mobile base stations as the sims are programmed for T-Mob and also allow roaming on sister Orange at network level not the sim although both now are EE the access codes it shows roaming on the other network, you need to allow national roaming and national data roaming in your settings. Its quite common in other countries just EE merger being the same company.

AU built a highways network with government funding with Vodafone that any network had roaming access to (included in priceplans) as the highways are remote in the majority of areas. Same as Voda AU having roaming on Telstra in regional AU.

As I said its quite common outside UK, but all the more confusing that a EE merger has not swapped to one access code whilst renovating all its base stations. I have both T-Mobile and Orange base stations available city wide, both EE now, confusing but easy to work out with 2G calling ability and 3G speeds vastly different in two locations on different networks, same as before just with EE logos.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

My EE SIM does this as well. Nominally it's T-Mobile, and sometimes roaming on Orange.

on my old S3 mini in apps there was a delight settings app, I was told to open this and change the sim settings from auto to manual and select delight-uk. That seemed to sort the roaming message

I think that if you read the original post again you will find that the poster has tried that option. His problem, which is common to others seems to be caused by the network ID codes of Orange and T-Mobile not being amalgamated into a common one for EE at transmitter level. As yet anyway.

They have pulled T-Mobile payg aswell as contracts that use the T-Mobile access code, unless they are EE 4G contracts (using T-Mobile access code with Orange roaming). Orange contracts are over but payg is still avail? no common sense, no doubt all that confusion will not improve under BT lol
