Just popped back in to say thanks for the carol Tru and have a fab time in Venice RR.0

Morning all. Hallelujah I actually managed to sleep until 6.30 this morning. I wish that could be the case every morning. I suppose lack of sleep has to catch up with you eventually and yesterday I was just so tired all day.
TRU I'm so sorry about Lacy. LAINEY so glad that Bill Boy has something that can be managed. What a worry it's been for you. RR have a wonderful time in Venice. NMLC I'm so glad your DS has been referred to an understanding doctor you can talk to.
GERS how sad about your young neighbour. This time of year is the worst for bringing such feelings to a head. Many years ago I knew a family with three children (2 boys and a girl) and all three suffered with depression. The two boys ended their own lives when in their early twenties. I could never even imagine how they felt at losing not one, but two of their children.
Well I got all my cards finished yesterday afternoon (despite Mr TA's cousin calling and staying for around two hours) and toda I must make a start wrapping/bagging all my presents. It's a marathon job but TRU's carol singing in the background will inspire me to keep plodding on!
The three DGDs are here at teatime, ready for another sleepover and school run tomorrow. I am a cruel grandma, abandoning them with grandad as I am out for the evening! DD will stay on and get the two youngest to bed and then he'll just be left with the 11 yo for company. It's my monthly meet up with friends for our carvery and wine evening. We are hoping the place won't be over-run with Christmas revellers so early in December. I hate a noisy background when you can't hear yourselves speak, as we always have so much to catch up on.
Must do a delve in the freezer now and see what I come up with for tea for them all. Whilst out there I could do with having a stockcheck and getting the drawers organised again. The chest freezer seems to stay much tidier for some reason.
Have a good day all ((((((HUGS))))))) to all those wanting/needing them. Take care, it sounds very wild out there again but I've not opened the blinds yet to see what's happening. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a bright and mild morning here which is nice after all the windy weather we have been having. Hubby and the girls have gone off to work/school and I am enjoying a cuppa and a bowl of cornflakes in peace.
Our anniversary meal was lovely and to top it off I had flowers delivered in the afternoon and my best friend in the world came over and spent a few hours with us which was so lovely as I haven't seen her since the Summer. It was a really nice day.
DD12 is making tea tonight, chicken curry and rice but I will make something else for her sisters as they don't really like curry. I must get some mince out to make spag bol tomorrow as well.
Tru, I was very sorry to hear about your Lacy chick, I'm glad it was peaceful though. Gers, what an absolute tragedy, there needs to be more support for our young men. Redruby, I hope you and your daughter have a wonderful time in Venice. NMLC, sorry you are having problems with your outlaws, some people really need to take a good hard look at themselves.
Well, that's all from me for now, hope you have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Redruby- have a lovely time in Venice with your dd.
Dumpling - belated anniversary wishes.
Gers . So sad for the young mans family.
Tru - sorry to hear about Lacy chick. Loving the carols.
Lainey - glad Bills condition can be treated.0 -
Good Morning everyone, a grey day here today but not wet and the forecast is for it to stay dry and mild all day, can only be good. Quiz night tonight so we'll meet my brother and DSIL at the pub and hopefully be able to answer more questions than we did last week! An indoor day planned today to sort out the house and do some cooking as I'm away again this weekend to another concert where DD1 is singing, an old favourite and for me the start of Christmas so Handels Messiah in the Cathedral on Saturday night, my all time favourite piece within it is 'I know that my redeemer liveth' wonderful words and always lifts my heart and gets me thinking of the real meaning of Christmas, no hype, just love.
TRU so sorry to hear that your lovely Lacy died, but I have to confess that if I had a choice about my own end I'd choose to just go to sleep and not wake up again, a peaceful ending after a life I've enjoyed so much would be a blessing. May she be scratching around in chicken heaven and be at peace.
Look after yourselves and have a lovely day, Lyn xxx.0 -

I bet a lot of humans don't get looked after as well. You gave her a good life and a good end.
Csarina
Fingers crossed for you at the exam.
TA
I slept better last night as well and it does make a difference. :j
Having a fairly lazy day. Washing has been done but weather is overcast so might have to dry it on the pulley.
Middle dd e mailed me to say the suitcases she ordered should arrive here today so need to make sure I don't miss the delivery.
Weigh in tonight and dd who drives us is in France so will walk down tonight. Could do with more yoghurts, veg and fruit but can't leave the house yet. Have not started wrapping presents or doing cards yet and still have a few hand sewing projects to do for DDs.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Hello chums first two Christmas cards arrived this morning !!! so I will have to get a wriggle on.Eldest Dds 48th birthday today and I shall be popping into see her later with her presents. No shopping to buy thank goodness and my sitting room is looking very cosy and Christmassy at the moment.
I think I shall have some leek and tattie soup for lunch with some crackers and pate and one of the huge pears I bought last week at the WI market. Last night youngest Dd gave me some cotton candy grapes that she had bought I'm not too sure if I like them or not they do have a very odd sweet taste. You know you are eating a grape but it tastes like candy floss, weird.
Not sure yet what I shall dig out for dinner tonight as I am freezer diving for a few weeks .whatever it is it will be accompanied by salad as I seem to have a lot in the fridge .
<hugs> to those in need its a sad time of the year for a lot of people not everyone will have a Happy Christmas, but if we all have a peaceful one I am happy about that
Cheers chums

Tru so sorry to hear about Lacy; fly free in the Summerlands, pretty chicky. xJust popping back on with news on my boy. He has been diagnosed with Arthritis in the stifle on his hind left leg, it's the bit at the top. Like with humans, there is no cure, but it can be managed. So he is coming home for a few days of box rest then going back in next week for Steroid injections into the joint, this should ease things for him and hopefully make it much more comfortable. If it doesn't really work he will have to be retired from being ridden but tbh don't care as long as my boy is happy and able to live pain free.
Thank you so much for all your kind words and wishes, it really means a lot that you were all routing for the old boy, the healing vibes were obviously good.:jHard_Up_Hester wrote: »I was asked to dog sit this weekend but refused as we have a busy weekend ahead and now it's even busier as we have people visiting, a couple with a very naughty 4 year old, oh joy.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
