My Grandcat often goes on jaunts with her big ginger boyfriend, has us all worried, but then struts in smug as anything"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I believe that cats can materialise and dematerialise at will. I swear I have checked every inch of rooms sometimes, gone to the door only to take a last look round to see them staring at me. I swear they do it on purpose just to remind me who runs things around here (and it's not me!)Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Sis came over to stay one night along with her dog. The cat dived down under the bed as soon as the car pulled up and wouldn't come out during the night. After they had gone, I went looking for the cat - She wasn't under the bed, and I searched all the dark spots she usually hides in. There was no way she could have gone outside during the night, and after searching the house from top to bottom, I started to worry that the dog had eaten her.
Got home after work, and there she was, sitting by her food bowl as if nothing had happened. Still absolutely no idea where she had hidden up.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
Yes, lost our rescue cat in the house before she was allowed outside. I knew she'd gone into the spare bedroom, but apart from under the bed, there was nowhere else to hide. The bed was made up and I'd already looked under the duvet - no cat. Bizarre! I gave up and turned to walk out the bedroom, just as I heard the quietest rustle a cat could make. She emerged from UNDER the pillows.....!0

I foster kittens for a local rescue & in the last month I've had no less than 12 through the door (3 different litters) and have 'lost' one several times
I'm super-careful that they can't get anywhere near the back door (with the dog flap in) so they're limited to a couple of rooms, but believe me those little blighters can hide well!

Over the years and with different kittens/cats we have discovered many odd hiding places:
*days after getting the 9 week kittens - inside a cupboard both sleeping inside a foot bath.
*my college backpack just as I'm about to get on the bus
*inside my duvet
*inside of a recliner armchair
*wardrobe - on the top, inside and behind
*suitcase
*bungalow roof
*neighbours tree
*mum halfway driving to work when a cat appeared from the back of the car0 -

Love this one Freezspirit. lol.
Lost my ginger baby to a sofa once - thought she was in the dry wall, was about to get the sledge hammer and take it down but she appeared from under the sofa, I'd already lifted that up to check - snuggled inside the zip.
Thought she'd gotten out when she was a baby - we were down my sisters at the time (same place as the sofa incident). Searched high and low, outside in the street, in the village etc. Went back to the sisters in floods of tears - kitten was only 8 months old at the time and her partner admitted to locking her in the attic because she looked at him funny. Needless to say I put her and my stuff in the car and came home post haste.Back in the red :mad:

Yes, and it gets to the point I'm about to go and check the road and ditches for a dead cat, then they turn up behind me and wonder what all the fuss is about. Happens at least once a week. I never have found out where they're hiding as I'm frantically rushing round the house looking for them!I just enter and forget...hoping to win something!0
