HI I had a leaking toilet called a plumber out .Said it would cost about 200 pounds to replace. Wasnt going to claim as excess is 100 pounds.
when he came to do the job further damage was seen and is nowgoing to cost 800. But ive swiched insurance companies in the meantime. Is it worth putting a claim into either my old or new insurance company?

You will have to claim on the old insurance policy.
You should read the policy booklet before claiming though, as you might find that the cost of repairing the leak itself isn't covered. Also if the work has been completed you might struggle to claim as the insurers might need to send someone round to have a look at the damage.0 -

Don't forget that you will need to notify the new insurer who may charge an admin fee and may increase the premium because you didnt declare this claim when taking out the policy.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
