top savings account minimum age

Just wondering if any of the current top savings accounts are open to 16 year olds? Have looked at a couple and it says min age 18. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about actual savings accounts? Or high interest current accounts which many are using as savings accounts?

Yes high interest accounts really.

I think they're all 18+, but it shouldn't take you long to check on the pre-application page(s) of the accounts you're considering.

If you do not require access until you are 18, you might consider the Halifax JISA.

Xylophone beat me to it: if you're 16 you're in the odd position of being allowed both a Junior ISA and an adult ISA, and often the JISAs have comparatively good rates. Earn as much interest as you can now and transfer it to an adult ISA when you turn 18.
