Hello Talktalk
I have broadband and weekend/evening phone call package - I am told that as my current package is a legacy package I cannot get the 'umlimited UK landline offer'. This is due to technical reasons - I'm ok with that but feel that it should have been made clear in your communications that not all broadband/phone users could have this offer.0 -
TalkTalk seem intent on causing greater illwill by being incredibly restrictive about who can have what offer than the original website hack ever caused.0

Apart from the mobile phone offer, I don't rate these freebies much.
If I were a T/Talk customer, I would grab one of the deals and wait until my contract expires and then move to another supplier.
For me, I will be intrigued to see what deals T/Talk will be giving to new customers early next year as I will use this to negotiate my renewal with Plusnet.
Interesting I tested the ground today so I phoned T/Talk to see wot deals I could get before I renew my deal with Plusnet. I was given a price of £43-00 per month for unlimited b/band, unlimited calls, sky sports, phone line rental, etc. I was the offered another deal of £23-00 per month for unlimited b/band, unlimited phone calls and phone line rental. I declined and advised that 'I was expecting far better offers due to T/talks very poor reputation in the market at the moment'. The operator then put me on hold whilst she advised me that was looking to get me better deals. After several minutes of waiting, I gave up and hanged up the phone.
I will drop Dido an em later but I suggest that T/talk are losing existing customers as well as not getting many new ones.
My advice is to play the game.0 -
My daughter told Talk-Talk she didn't want any of the upgrades, so they offered her a £20 discount off her next monthly bill - which she unfortunately accepted thinking it was a good offer - I have since told her (and Talk-Talk) that I think it is a paltry offer!
Do all customers know that Talk-Talk only value their data to the tune of £20? I find this staggering!
I am trying to persuade them to do the best thing a consumer can when unhappy - leave Talk-Talk and go with Virgin instead....0 -
Similar story here. I spent over an hour on the phone to them yesterday, initially to report that my wife had (coincidentally) received a series of emails from carphone warehouse and talktalk about a new account set up by a person with the same name at the other end of the country. For some reason they had used my wife's email address - not sure whose fault. I had only phoned them to alert them of their mistake, but thought I would ask about the upgrade. As I had been checking our account details I looked at my upgrade options on the talktalk website, one of which was the free 12 month mobile SIM. However, when I raised it, I was told that they weren't prepare to honour that because we already have a mobile contract (which we are paying for, obviously). All they offered was 'privacy' options on our landline. I suspect the real reason is that we're not on a contract so they are not really interested in retaining our business and, as others have suggested, the offer of 'upgrades' to all customers is just a PR stunt. I wouldn't have been concerned if they hadn't raised my expectations by making the specific offer, only to withdraw it. As it is, I ended the call with my blood boiling. Then today I received an email from them offering among other things .... a free 12 month moblile SIM. Which drove me to write this. It strikes me that they provide great customer service - until they actually have to do something. The upshot is, I'll be looking interestedly for deals from ANYONE BUT TalkTalk.0

TalkTalk ditched, moving to Post Office.0

But isn't the Post Office Broadband provided by Talk Talk?0

I think we have all come to a similar conclusion - get away from Talk-Talk as soon as possible! There is still a bit of me that thinks they might now be the most secure provider, having just been hacked - all the others are only considered secure until a similar thing happens to them!
I have contacted the Communications ombudsman to see what they say about the compensation offer - if I get any joy from them I'll post something on here - but I suspect it won't be till the new year now...0 -

We were paying nearly £28 a month with TT, tried to haggle but only offered £5 off, which when considering they offer new customers much cheaper deals, we were hacked off with them. When the cyber attack happened, that was the push we needed.
We are now with PlusNet on the £111 (after cash back) per year deal. We have never switched before and was nervous and unsure but it all went without a hitch, no down time at all. One day with TT, the next I set up the new router and we were up and running.
Today I got the "A free upgrade to say thank you" email. In the email it says "we continually review and update our systems" - NO YOU DONT, OTHERWISE YOU WOULD KNOW WE AIN'T WITH YOU NO MORE!!!
For anyone who is not confident about switching, just do it! Its ok, I promise !
