Donating gas appliances

Hi all,
We have a perfectly good gas hob and electric integrated oven that we are keen to donate to a charity. We would, ideally, like to donate to one focusing on homelessness and rehabilitation assistance. However, with the gas hob we are having issues. Does anybody know of a charity that will accept gas and electrical appliances and use volunteers to do electrical and gas safety testing before allowing them to be passed on?
We have recently moved house and have lots of furniture and appliances to donate but are struggling, which I didn't think we expected!
Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Some years ago, we had a good electric cooker to give away (only because we had a halogen hobbed one on trial from Creda) , but the BHF shop said they were unable to take any appliance older than three years, for safety reasons.
We actually sold and delivered it to a very satisfied lady.0 -
We've tried BHF and they won't accept. It's a shame as they were almost new when we moved in but we replaced the kitchen and applicances so have them spare. We were thinking of selling on eBay and donating the cash but I know that sometimes the physical things might be needed.
We are even struggling to donate a solid mahogany cabinet as it's 'too big'! Beautiful piece of furniture but just not suited to the house we've bought (was left behind by the vendor). Might try to eBay that tooo.0 -
Not charity as such, but have you thought about Freecycle? There are often requests for items such as cookers, as they are too expensive for some people to afford when their own breaks down. You could either answer a wanted advert, or list it as offered.
You could also donate the cabinet the same way. The person who wants the item collects it.0
