New address failing POS "Customer not present" address check

Hi all,

I moved house 2 months ago and updated my address with my CC issuer within a few days. I've just come to make a "Customer not present" purchase over the telephone and it has been rejected as the "address does not match" - I don't know what it doesn't match with. I've called the CC issuer who confirms that their records are up to date and confirms that they can see the transaction being conducted which their system is approving but the transaction is then voided ...by the retailer when their POS machine doesn't match the address details with the card details. My house is a new build and I'm having the dickens of a job with systems not recognizing the address.

Where would the retailer's POS machine be going to check the address (so where would I have to go to have it updated)? ...it can't be the card issuer as they've already confirmed that the address details on their system are correct.

Do you have a zero in your postcode? I had major issues when one bank but the zero as the letter O on their database.

I've had similar issues with a new build house where systems hadn't been updated with the newly created postcode.


It sounds like you need to ask the retailer to solve it.
