I may have missed this but I can't see that you state anywhere what your standard interest rate is for your Barclaycard currently.

Surely it would be better to balance transfer from Halifax and pay off as much as you can in the 9 months than keep paying at 21.95% if the standard interest rate is lower?

    It's 29.9 for purchases.

Perhaps you are right, because I can always do another transfer at the end of that 9 months providing everything has gone ok with credit (which it will).

I am just very eager to get a card closed, and I can close it right away if I want to. But I suppose it will mean I can close the Halifax. Also I didn't ideally want to keep using barclaycard as I bank with them and so they are well aware of my current incomings etc and might give me worse rates because of it.

    Hi Mr Jester,

What is your credit limit on your MBNA card?

Is there room to move the excess from BC if you do a BT and cannot pay it off in 9 months?

0% is certainly better than 21.95% IMHO

Before you close the BC, why don't you apply for one of the BT offers that give you 90% chance of getting? Reason I would say do it first, is simply because it has been known to be inaccurate occasionally. It would be awful if you closed the BC then couldn't get anything else to do the BT.

Hi its basically at its limit on the MBNA.

Yeah I hear you, except you can only have one Barclaycard at a time.

Going to think on it and might just go with the deal and then there will be literally nothing I am paying interest on, which would be a good feeling and means I can make some headway with the debts instead of giving them free money!!
