I am not sure if this is the correct forum. My 15 year old Canon camera has developed a very sticky feel to one area of the casing, it did have a rubbery feel but it has now gone very sticky. Any suggestions on how to remove this surface coating? I have tried, on a very small area, baby oil and after cleaning it off, WD40, polish does not remove it.

you dont say which camera it is I am assuming due to the age it is The series that takes the FD lenses.
Some of the mid age range of these cameras ie AL1, AL, etc the black leather is glued on to the body if so then run a WARM iron over a sheet of kitchen towel to absorb the excess glue of from the body.THE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0 -
