B&Q avoid delivery is useless

Placed an order for delivery to daughters first home (not heating being "done up" its freezing.

To be delivered Thurs 26th Nov..didn't turn up, no notice of this, they had home/mobile/email info, I phoned them up and complained (waiting 15 mins on phone) "sorry they are coming Monday 30th"

Phoned again Sunday to confirm delivery (another 15 mins), "ring us in the morning"

Phoned again Monday (15 mins etc) "phone us after 10 am.

Phoned after 10 am "they are coming today 8-6pm"

Monday didn't turn up again and complained, was told "we are very sorry again".................if you want to complain further you can "after the doors have been delivered"
I asked can I speak to a manager and was told "they wont answer until you have had the delivery"

What a tortal shambles B&Q are.......Lesson learned......avoid like the plague

It was a while ago but we had a whole catalogue of problems with B and Q. I ordered a hob and it just never arrived, each day I was assured it was loaded on the van and each day when it failed to arrive no one could explain where it was. That was eventually cancelled and I got compensation for the hassle.

Then another time we ordered a bathroom and a basic kitchen for a house we rent out about 50 miles away. We had to go to the B and q nearest the rental house as apparently they had to arrange it all. wasted a day as the kitchen planner never turned up for the appointment, drove back next day adnd ordered it all. They took the address to send the surveyor round to measure up a few bits and also took our billing address, we double checked with them and with the paperwork that the address for measuring and fitting was the correct one. A week later my OH drove to the rental to let the surveyor in..only to have him turn up at our house instead where frankly he was rude and irritated at having been sent on a 100 mile round trip to measure up. I showed him my paperwork- which he didn't have a copy of, and he stood on my driveway on the phone yelling abuse at B and Q and said he would never take a contract from them again.

That lot was also all cancelled and again we got compensation.

Well so far Kerno it's 2 bad experiences (delivery failures), 5 fruitless phone calls over 5 days, is bad enough to me , who knows how many more bad experiences are in store !!!!

Not to mentionm not letting me know, they have all phone numbers and e mail address

By the same thought, it doesn't make them good for delivering ?

I have complained by e mail, and sent a link to this thread, or sould I call it a saga?

    Indeed.

I recently ordered six internal doors. I screwed up and didn't realise that two of my doorways were narrower than the other four. Chippy pointed it out when the six doors arrived.

Phoned B&Q and they said no problem (they actually have a department that deals solely with online orders of doors). They arranged to send two the correct size out and to pick up two of the original six at the same time at no cost to me.

Couldn't have gone any smoother to be honest.
