Pensioners Furniture con - Bespoke Healthcare Products

I've been working abroad and on returning I find my elderly mother has bought a bed and chair from a company who presented at her sheltered housing development. She told me she paid £3,000 but looking at the invoice she's actually been charged at £5,500. She can't sleep in the bed as it cripples her back. Cleverly the company claim their products are made to measure and have delivered a bed that is only 4 foot wide. She fell out of the 5 ft double bed she had so why would she buy one that was smaller? This company seem to present to people living in sheltered housing and I'm furious that they are targeting vulnerable elderly people with hard sales. What can we do?

Have you spoken to the manager of the sheltered housing?
Ask them if they are connected to this company.
How do you know it was a hard sell?
    Speak to trading standards.
What are the specifications of the items she bought?
