Am I entitled to a refund?

My husband bought me KitchenAid stand mixer after I lusted after one for years it was a present for Christmas 2013. it broke in July 2015 and I sent it off for repairs and frustratingly KitchenAid lost the machine. After several weeks they found it and shipped it back to me with a set of baking trays to try and keep me quiet. However, it has now broken again. Can I ask for my money back to buy a different machine? It has a 5 year warranty, I don't know if that makes a difference.

It is up to wherever you bought it from to decide on a repair, replacement or refund.

Obviously it would be a partial refund to reflect the time you have already used it.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

No, your not entitled to a refund but you can ask. Your chances are slim though as they are entitled to hold you to the terms of the warranty.

You can try the SOGA route but that still won't make you entitled to a refund and you would need to prove the fault was inherent at the time of purchase.
  • Thanks for the advice. I'm very cross that this machine cost over £400 and has lasted less than two years. Some valuable lessons learned for the future, I think!
