On recommendation from an 'expert' I downloaded the new version of lavasoft's Adaware programme. Since then things dont seem to be right. I get repeat error messages and it continually asks if I want to download the latest 'UPDATE MANAGER' even though I have just finished doing so. Is there a known problem with this version and can i go back to the earlier one EASILY? tHANKS.

The free version of Ad aware 2007. Thanks.0

The new version seems to have some limitations (and problems) compared with the older version. Have a look at this thead:

I've since gone back to the older version which still works fine.0 -
How did you get back to the older version? On the forum at Lavasoft people are reporting problems uninstalling the new version:eek:0

I don't like the new version either. A quick scan seems to take much longer than the old version and I'm finding the instructions confusing.
Have been wondering whether to uninstall and try another programme.0 -
I uninstalled Lavasoft because of the thing on the task bar that was doing nothing .
I use a-squared now. http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/0 -
I have successfully uninstalled the new one, finally found a site that worked and downloaded the old version, updated the definitions to find when I ran the scan there was quite a lot picked up. Given that I scanned with the 2007 version immediately before switchinmg, that's a bit worrying. Shall stick to what I know now!:o0

can i just recommend Hitman Pro to everyone, it runs all the spyware tools you will ever need, can run virus scans automatically for you,
I find it a life saver

btw its freeware, and will automatically update everything before it scans.0
