    Glad to help. I'd also recommend you Google "Met Police Operation Bumblebee" for very useful advice from the Met Police about home security.
    Not wanting to start another thread when this is relevant but can anyone recommend a good wireless alarm for a small house/flat?

    Personally, I'd recommend getting quotes from a few local alarm companies. But I'd only get quotes from companies that are SSAIB or NSI registered: TheCrimePreventionWebsite.com has good, impartial advice.

    I'd avoid ADT, who are rubbish. I'd also avoid Everest, whose prices are ludicrous. But I would shop around local companies registered with the NSI or SSAIB; ask for their quotes to include shock sensors on vulnerable glass areas (e.g. single-pane windows at the rear, any French or patio doors).
