I'm so happy I stumbled across this thread! I did a bit of a toiletries stock take this time last year, and used up loads, but it's crept back up again!!
I'll be doing a stock take again over the next couple of days and definitely join the January thread!

Hi everyone. May be my last chance to post before Christmas so here's to a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. And if you do get toiletries for Christmas just remember to use them before buying more.

So I have some OUTs. Some in the form of GAs (as gifts) and some as UUs:-

    First the UUs:-

Mario Badescu Glycolic cleanser. I inherited a small bottle of this from Emma. I think I gave it to her last Christmas as it had come as a freebie with a beauty order. At first I thought this product was gorgeous. I don't usually like foaming cleansers as they make my skin feel dry. This one didn't however after a few days of using it I noticed that my make up was looking patchy and then at the weekend I was in the car applying some lippie using that super magnified mirror when I noticed my pores were huge (you know that attractive orange peel look?). As this was the only product I had changed I had to put it down to the cleanser plus I had been over-exfoliating which will have added to the pore enlargement. Used the last of this on my body and WNBA.

When I had noticed my make up looking patchy earlier in the week and had not put two and two together about the cleanser I had decided that the foundation I use was no longer working and ordered a pot of Tarte Clay Colour Foundation from QVC. Maybe I should be stepping it up a bit in winter anyway? Will see when it arrives. Speaking of Tarte I have only recently tried the lipstick of theirs that I got in the US and it is soooo nice. Didn't really like the colour in the tube (coral colour) but it looks good on the lips and is so soft and buttery. Will look for more of these.

Getting back to the UUs: I also finished a 200ml tub of TBS Satsuma body butter. These are a HG but as I don't work near a TBS I don't know when I will buy it again. There are others that I like but I do tend to return to the TBS ones whenever I can.

So GAs: Put together gifts for the 5 ladies at work and these items are gone from my stash:-

2 x L'occitane Lime shea hand creams (mag freebies)
1 x full sized Elemis Frangipani shower cream
1 x OPI Colour is on my cards (gorgeous red colour that came in kit with the Celestial is More that I love)
1 x Burts Bees hand salve (mini tin)
    1 x L'Occitane lip balm
    2 x Boots NO 7 mascaras

I did supplement these kits with a candle each so in the end this is the only item I bought to go in with the gifts.

Gonna go now. Everybody please enjoy the festivities and see you in January with some INs!!
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the lovely welcome back :heart2: and I'm sorry that I disappeared again almost immediately! I'm still not well but have been reading along and just wanted to wish everyone a

:xmassign: :xmastree: :xmastree: VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS! :xmastree: :xmastree: :xmassign:

before too many people disappear. Welcome to the newbies as well. This is a wonderful, warm group of people and doing the challenge is great fun :)

I have had INs all month from my M&S advent calendar. It has been such fun each day that I'm nothing but happy about the INs (thankfully). I managed to exceed my aim for the year and currently have 254 UUs on my list :D I have a few splutterers so am hoping the total will be higher by the end of the year :j

I've been watching lots of panning videos and use up challenges on YouTube and am hoping that I've brainwashed myself into doing a low-buy next year :rotfl: I've selected a few make-up items that I'm concentrating on and although I'm not going to do a pan that palette challenge I would like to hit pan on certain things. I'd also like to do mini UU challenges with sachets and samples - anything to keep me focused on UUs and not buying :o The Jan sales are my absolute weak point so I'm trying to do a no-buy from today (make up, toiletries - the lot.) I'd love to make it to the end of Jan and then reevaluate from there.

Up-coming INs - I'm getting a four item Rituals set for Christmas and two gifts from L'Occitane that I chose. My one sale item was going to be a La Vie Est Belle giftset (perfume and body lotion) but that popped up in the Harrods sale on Mon so I bought it early. (Very weird - I'm not sure if the early start was an email mistake...) Other INs are a 1 litre bottle of my favourite shampoo (Sebastian Hydre - it was massively reduced on Amazon) and a bottle of Nuxe Nexuellence Jeunesse that I think is the reason my skin has been so calm recently (I've been using up sample tubes and think it may be my one skincare HG). I'd love to go six months without buying anything but know how difficult that would be so I'm taking it one step at a time. :) I'm definitely in the 'feeling happy with what I have' mindset and if I continue that sense of gratitude then maybe I'll make it through the Jan sales unscathed :o

    :A :A Best of luck to everyone for 2016 :A :A

    I have some UU's

I'm also going through the B. range at the moment. So far I've really been impressed by it. The only thing I haven't been is the mascara but I'm going to try the brush from They're Real and see if that helps. Have you tried many products?

    Hi

I used their micellar solution as a toner after a cleanse and I used their glycolic cleanser and the combination leaves my skin looking great.

I have combination skin and lots os acne scars and anything with glycolic is great for my skin.

The Spuerdrug.B range is really a 'hidden gem'.

I'm also using a Superdrug B. range product at the moment. I'm finding the Night Serum wonderful - my skin is definitely softer. It's great that it's so affordable.

Two more UU for me yesterday.

No7 nail care for cuticles - really like this and WDBA but have two in stock so no need to for the time being

Sure deoderant white linen - to be honest this has been my holy grail since I was about 18 but recently I am very disappointed in it. The new cans say they last as long as the non compressed but I seem to be replacing them very quickly and also I do not find the formula as effective as before. Think it may be time for a change. I have two more to use up but suspect it may be gone before the end of January so I will have a hut around and see what is around.

Have a great Christmas everyone and see you in the New Year. Not sure if I will have the chance to get on before then

Happy Christmas everyone. Hope you all have a great time.

    I have a uu

Aromatherapy Associates Support Lavender & Peppermint Bath & Shower Oil 7ml - WNBA, these are nice but don't do anything other than scent the bath water and they are just too expensive for a scent.
