I paid half of my college fees then I was supposed to pay the other half by ringing and paying amounts off it when I got bills. I have only had one statement in April this year saying how much I still owed (wasn't asking for money it just showed the balance) and that is it they have never asked for a penny since?? I keep waiting for them writing to me then I will pay it but nothing? I have always had to pay full fees I'm not entitled to any concessions unfortunately. Kinda hoping they've forgotten about it but then I get paranoid that I will get a court summons or something daft without any warning and I've never been in any debt trouble like that so I'd be upset.
What would you do? Pay up without being asked to keeping waiting and pushing your luck like me :rotfl:

Personally, I'd leave it if I had the funds to pay it. I don't think they will send a court summons without warning.
Have you got proof that they were to send you a bill as I guess that would make a difference?
If you have proof and they have not asked, then stick the money in an account and get a bit of interest on it while they sort themselves out. You could then pay immediately if they get a bit shirty about it, and if they don't ever ask again.....0 -
I work quite closely with the finance dept. at our college and have seen this a few times this year. Unfortunately some of the cases I have come across have had their tuition withdrawn.
It is your responsibility to pay your tuition fees. It is up to you to budget for it and ensure it is covered. If you know you have outstanding fees to pay, I would recommend paying them if you can afford it.
As a college, we do unfortunately have to take legal proceedings against some students who have not made any effort to pay and claiming that they have not had a bill would not hold sway. (I am not saying that you fall into this category.)
If you are on a 2 year course, you may not be allowed to enrol on the second year with an outstanding debt.0 -

I've finished the course now, and passed and received the certificate. Will they write to me and request the money before they start any serious courts summons or anything?0 -
Our procedure is to write to the student and inform them that as we have not had payment, we will instigate court proceedings unless they pay within a certain number of days.
I would assume that they would have to contact you to request payment first.0
