How much will Crossrail cost?

And then there will be Crossrail 2 at an estimated cost of up to 32 billion. These mammoth costs seem to go through on the nod when they are in London in stark contrast with infrastructure project in the rest of the country where there is endless debate and argument.
But how much of Crossrail is being paid for by the tax payer? I think £5billion?
In terms of Crossrail 2 I think the figure will be around 25% of the actual cost.

In defence of TFL, Crossrail is currently both on schedule and on budget. Since fit-out is now well underway, most of the variables in terms of time and cost (i.e. the tunnelling stage) have now already been overcome. No free lunch, and no free laptop
