Can my wife recieve rental income whilst claiming carers' allowance

Hi All,

My wife looks after her elderly mother and disabled brother. Will she still qualify for carers allowance if receiving a rental income from a property? Might be a daft question but thought best to ask...:)

Many thanks in anticipation of your valued comments.

you are only allowed to earn a certain amount and get CA, its around £105 per week after certain deductions.

I would imagine your wife is not running a business but letting out a property she owns? Or is it a holiday home that she has to take bookings for?

    Look at 15743

If your wife rents out a property as described in the example then this is not classed as earnings from a business and won't affect her claiming CA.
