I keep accidentally hitting a key, I think FN, that brings in a blue sidebar on the right of the screen that says "project to second screen". Sometimes I can get rid of that and sometimes I can't, and have to turn the laptop off for half an hour, using the on button as although the cursor moves, nothing happens. Please tell me how to stop this happening? I havent got a touch screen.

You're probably hitting Windows + P.
I can't test how you get rid of it, but no doubt others will advise.0 -

Think I have tried esc but will do that first next time and hope it works, ta. Does nobody else get this same problem though? It's something to do with FN and F4 or F50

1
Press and hold the “Fn” key.
2
Press the “F5” key to change your laptop's active display device from the laptop screen to an external monitor.
3
Click on the display configuration you want: displaying on both the laptop and external monitor; only on the laptop; only on the external monitor; or a specific screen resolution.
4
Press and hold “Fn” and “F5” to accept the new display settings. Press and hold “Fn” and “F5” again to return to your laptop's display only.0 -

FLASH CARDS
TOSHIBA Flash Cards is a utility using a card type design. It replaces the "Hot Key Utility" which is a conventional utility for Windows. Pressing a specific key together with the Fn key executes the function assigned to the key (hot key function). When a hot key is pressed or the mouse cursor is moved to the end of the screen, the cards are displayed in a row at the end of the screen.
When a key to which a hot key was assigned is pressed or when one of the cards lined up at the end of the screen is selected, the card is displayed. The functions that the user can select from this card are presented with the subitems displayed with the card. When the user selects a subitem, the function of the selected item is executed. A hot key or mouse can be used to select an item when it is displayed.
To open the Flash Cards utility settings:
Click the Start menu.
Enter "Flash" into the search field.
Click "Flash Cards" in the search results.
Setting for Flash Cards will open.
Make changes as desired and click "apply" to set or "Cancel" to exit without changing settings.
To Disable/Enable Flash Cards (Fn Key) functions
Disable - Place a checkmark in the "Disable all function keys" box. Click "Apply."
Enable - Ensure there is no checkmark in the "Disable all function keys" box. Click "Apply."0
