Item not as described return but labels now removed?

I sold a good quality coat by a good make that was labelled. I got item not as described dispute opened against me by a fellow seller who was going to resell it as vintage so removed the labels.
I agree that I should have said sleeves had been taken up , which I honestly never noticed as I aka ways mention stuff like that in listings but missed this. Anyway, I said yes fine please return but she said she has removed the labels so if I resell I can't say it is the make anymore so I will now make peanuts on it as the name is a good quality make.
I'm guessing it's my tough luck as I know what ebay is like to sellers. What happens do you think in this case?

buyer says SNAD but has removed labels etc etc etc. Buyer is extracting the urine.
Myself I would be insisting on a return. What goes around comes around.....0 -

I would say you'll win the case as you are not getting back exactly what you sent out.
This is a bit similar to something that happened to my father a few years back. He bought a golf club on eBay and when it arrived he took it into a golf shop to get it shortened. The shop decided not to inform him it was fake until he collected the now shortened club. He complained to the seller and ended up opening a case against them on the grounds that it was not as described/counterfeit. They sided with the seller due to the shortening.0 -

Thanks , that's really interesting. Not heard of a seller ever winning before. If you don’t like a thread or post just move on by.

Tricky one. Sod's law says you'll lose0

The buyer should have checked it over before removing labels.
There's no guarantee you'll win the case, but based on the fact that they have altered the item you should. As above, it is possible to win a case for that.
So you can either just accept the return, which will mean you're out of pocket, or you can stand your ground and state that you can not accept a return now as the item has been altered.
If it's only because of the sleeves being taken up they could still resell it anyway! If their plan was to resell then surely they'd do so for a profit. That might perhaps lower its resell value but at the very least they could probably still make their money back.0 -
Yeah sorry you'll lose. The only thing I can suggest is asking nicely if the buyer is sure they don't want it.0

I think it could go either way, but suspect buyer will win purely because item was not as described. Taking the tags off doesn't change the fact that it was SNAD.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The golf club was SNAD too though, seller still won.
As you say, could go either way. Perhaps it's down to wording and how helpful the seller is in trying to resolve the issue? OP did state to return it before they found out about the labels being removed so that should go in their favour, although you never know with ebay.0 -

I was surprised to read that one, perhaps it was long enough ago not to fall under the new very stringent SNAD rules.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think I'll ring ebay tomorrow as they should be able to see messages saying she's taken tags out. I offered her £10 back but she wanted to return it. I agree that she could resell it and I would if I was her had messed with it like she has.
I accepted return before she told me she had removed labels.
I agree with those saying im going to lose on this one. Really annoyingIf you don’t like a thread or post just move on by.
