Do I have a valid claim on my travel insurance?

It's entirely possible to book a yet unborn infant.
Most airlines don't require passport details until online check in
The name is simply booked as infant Smith on the reservation. The same applies to travel insurance -some wlll allow you to add the future child - others will tell you to add them once they are safely born and the doctor confirms they have no health issues.
In this case I doubt the OP will have a claim as the inoculation advice has been in place for some years and is one of the things the OP should have checked before booking. Insurance is for things you should have been aware of when booking/taking out a policy- not bothering to check beforehand isn't an insurable reason.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

My family and I are due to fly to Hurghada on 1st April 2016.
My wife is heavily pregnant and is due on the 14th January. We are concerned about travelling due to vaccinations. The official government website states:
`Following an increase in cases of Hepatitis A infections in travellers returning from Egypt, pre-travel Hepatitis A vaccine is now recommended for all travellers.`
Our new arrival will be around 11 weeks old by the time we are due to fly (depending on him being on time) When we have looked into the Hepatitis A vaccine we have found on the NHS website:
`The hepatitis A vaccine cannot be given to babies under the age of one.`
With this being the case would this be eligible for a valid insurance claim for what we have paid for the holiday so far?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
As posted above, your baby will be at virtually no risk of contracting Hep A (so long as you ensure that any fluids s/he drinks have been boiled). This is not a reason for cancellation; nor for worry.0 -
I wouldn't want to take a young baby to a hot country like Egypt anyway.
OP, are you trying to get out of the holiday cheaply?Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Thank you for all the replies.
We booked the holiday as a package holiday a while back, before my wife got pregnant and we were able to add the unborn onto the booking. I'm glad to say we have managed to change the holiday for later in the year when baby is that little bit older and also a bit closer to home and not as hot!
Thanks again fo rall the input, was very useful0
