Mainstream bank account with a default.

Has anyone successfully opened a standard/mainstream current account with a default on their credit files. Does it even matter that I only have a basic cashminder co-op account, when it comes applying for credit etc.
I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.

I recently opened a Natwest Current account and Santander sent me an email today saying they'd looked at my file and I could have one without an overdraft.
I have 12 defaults on my file thanks to my ex taking credit out in my name behind my back since 2010. The companies wouldn't remove them unless I put a CIFAS marker on my file (which I wasn't willing to do) but yeah, I still got one.Escaped abusive marriage - 22nd October 2014 | Light Bulb Moment - 25th November 2015 - Going to face down my debt.
