Decent - as opposed (probably!) to cheapest - car insurance

It's renewal time again and John Lewis Partnership want £190.74, quite a lot up on last year.

I've been looking around at what else might be possible, via comparison sites + also going direct to various sites (Aviva, Direct Line, Tesco's, Post Office ...), and the best I've come up with is Budget Insurance at £178.83.

Needless to say, I've rung John Lewis - who won't budge - and tomorrow I intend to ring NFU (not open today), as I've heard good things about them.

Any comments on Budget Insurance (if they're really hopeless, a £12 saving ends up being rather a waste of time) - or any other options - would be most welcome! :)

Budget are usually bottom of the list when Which? report on motor insurance.

Google bisl reviews to learn the awful truth (Budget is one of their many names)

Many thanks for that, Quentin - obviously best to avoid them like the plague!

But who now (assuming NFU isn't competitive)?
