I'm looking to increase the memory in my laptop but I'm getting conflicting information as to the maximum it can take. Some sites say max is 6gb, others say 8gb.
Its a hp pavilion g6. I beleive it's a g6-1209sa
Can any shed light on this please?

What makes you think the memory is damaged ?

I suspect you can use 8GB
What laptop did you test it in as the RAM may not have been compatible in that system ?
So do I. I suspect the 6GB quoted by HP is an error in their docs.
