Clear the debts before doing any savings first tho! the debt looks worrying.
That is the good advice I got from this forum, and that I followed over the past 2 years.
Last July, I cleared all debt, and I am now only left with my mortgage: a 5year fixed rate of 2.2%Total Debt
12/2012 - £893k (mortgage and toys loans)
11/2019 - £556k (mortgage only)0 -

Please can you make a note of your challenge number (they go up to 88 so far) and put it in your sig? That'd be very helpful
Our target is nearly £1,000,000 already! :eek:Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Please can I join with a target of £5000. I will save this amount and then spend it on moving costs but want to end the year with £5000 in savings so will be saving £5000 twice in 2016!
I did join this thread a few years back but dropped out due to setting an unrealistic target on a much smaller income than we have now and not really having an end goal apart from the number.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
I'd like to join lets try for £12,000 cheers.

Hello.
I would love to join again. I'm disappointed that, as I write, I know I will not reach my 2015 target of £7K, but this thread spurred me on to making overpayments on my debt where I could. As it stands I hit 70% of my target. I do need to prepare for a bigger tax bill in 2017, and my company is paying only a ludicrous 1% towards my pension, so these are things I need to tackle.
There will also be a crux time come early January where my OH returns to work as he has still not conquered his anxiety issues. It feels like I am having to be braced for a storm the whole time.
But if I know I have saved £5K this year, I still need something to push towards. A target that is not easy to achieve but not hard to exceed either is more motivating.
So please may I join again...? And please may my target be £5625?Keep reading books!
