The Lightning deal price does include the VAT, as do normal prices.
    The receipt breaks it down.

For example one of the "Lightning deal" orders I made yesterday.
    Item price £34.99

Item Subtotal: £29.16 (this is £34.99 minus vat)
    Postage & Packing: £0.00
    Lightning Deal: -£8.00
Total before VAT: £22.49 (lightning deal price before vat)
    VAT: £4.50
Total: £26.99 (this is the lightning deal advertised price)
    Paid by Mastercard: £26.99

And this is one from a few weeks back
    Item Subtotal: £52.48
    Postage & Packing: £0.00
    Total before VAT: £52.48
    VAT: £0.51
    Total: £52.99
    Paid by Mastercard: £52.99

    Both show the vat breakdown.

thanks, my order summery was a bit confusing as they took the discounts off different items in different places, and didn't discount postage (sorted now) so it looked like I was over charged
If I ignore amazon's calculations and work out the total I get the correct figure.

What is the individual cost of the items you bought? From what I can see the calculations are correct, the figure on the third line you say includes VAT does not.

And Nilrem is right, the Amazon advertised price does include VAT.
  • sorry, I edited while you were posting.

It's all sorted now, I've had a long day and wasn't thinking clearly when I first looked at it.

Is there a way to delete this thread?
