New build boiler repairs help

I currently have no heating or hot water. I have tried resetting my boiler and it says it's supplying heat and the lights are on the thermostat but the most I'm getting is Luke warm occasionally. I know I could call British Gas to come and have a look but before I do I wanted to get some advice about costs. The customer care team for DWH isn't open on a weekend but I'm sure my boiler is covered by the 5 year warrentee so if I call out British Gas and pay them for a boiler repair, is this something I can claim back? I don't really want to be without heating and hot water until I can call the customer care team on Monday.

Call out BG _ then seek reimbursement of the costNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

It's worth switching the boiler off at the mains and then on againNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

The boiler manufacturer won't necessarily reimburse you if you call out another provider. The cover they offer is not an emergency service. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I don't know where the mains switch is for the boiler. I have used the reset button though with no luck. The boiler manufacturer won't necessarily reimburse you if you call out another provider. The cover they offer is not an emergency service.
Surely as I have a 5 year warrentee due to it being a new boiler, it shouldn't matter, should it? It's not expected to break down in that time (it's only 18 months old).0 -
The warranty is provided by the manufacturer who will specify who will do the repairs.
It is highly unlikely that they will reimburse you if you go it alone especially if you use BG who are probably the most expensive.
Check that you've got all the documentation for your boiler and that the guarantee was registered in the first place.
Your first port of call should be to the person or organisation who installed it in the first place.
Companies will wriggle out of warranties if all the conditions including annual services, registration & use of their approved installers/service agents are not fully complied with.
Don't call out BG unless you can afford to foot the bill yourselfNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
It's your choice - call out BG and hope to get an appointment tomorrow or wait till Monday and hope the manufacturer / installer can come out before ChristmasNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

As others have said, if you call a third party company to fix, dont expect reimbursement . This is the problem with combis...when it goes you lose both heating and HW. Has the OP followed the faultfinding charts in the back of the manufs booklets which should have been left by the builders?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Is there a fault code displayed ?
Is the programmer calling for the boiler ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

No fault codes as everything appears to be working fine (looked at the boiler and the gas box outside where the meter is). It must be doing something as I am getting slightly warm water as opposed to just cold. It's one of those new types of boilers where you can't open it up though, you can only turn the dial on the front to on, off or reset. Also, I accept that manufacturers want you to use their own people to fix things but then they should have an out of hours office for things like no heating/hot water, or do they expect us to go to work smelly until they are open?! Anyone had any experience with either DWH or logic (the boiler manufacturer) with regards to this kind of situation?0 -
You could try telling us which boiler you've got (make & model) and what controls are connected to it - programmer, thermostat (make & model numbers)
Someone might then be able to have a stab at what might be wrong.
Have you checked the boiler pressure - they don't like it if the pressure is too lowNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
