Best way to keep landing heated using central heating?

I can't answer the question about the lounge etc doors - you'd have to try both ways. It depends whether the lounge etc gained via heat coming up the stairs from the kitchen or lost by losing heat from their own radiators. As someone said -why the concern about the landing ....it's not somewhere where you'd sit or hang around like a lounge - just let it assume whatever temperature your adjustments elsewhere yield.0

The simple solution is to leave the bedroom door ajar, but the cooking smell wafts in, I expect.
There is some tuning possible with the lockshield valve, as well as the TRV.0
