I have recently taken over a half plot allotment, overgrown at the moment, which has heavy clay soil. I hope to have six separate beds on the site.
I would like to sow some green manure on the beds after I have dug them over, added some grit and manure, and prepared them as best I can.
If this is a good idea could anyone suggest the best sort to use in these circumstances. If I should be doing something different to prepare for next spring, again I would welcome suggestions.
