Working 30 hours on the minimum wage housing benefits entitlement

Hi,
So I have a job starting a couple of weeks it's for 30 hours a week at £6.70 an hour.
I am currently living with my Mum she receives ESA and housing benefits.
My job is only for 3 weeks over the Christmas time so I was wondering if I will be expected to pay full rent for that week ? Do I contact housing benefits and tell them of my start and end date and would they close her claim?
Thanks

I am presuming that it is your mum's name on the tenancy agreement and therefore has the liability for rent? If not, please say.
Therefore it is your mum that needs to inform the council that you (as her non dependent) has started a job. They will then apply a non dependent deduction to her HB depending on what you earn (you can look these up on your local council website) You will have to produce your pay slips.
Then you can 'up' your contribution to your mum to cover this and any extra while you are working.

After my end date after telling them about it, will housing benefits automatically start paying the rent. As I will be unemployed again.0 -

Will you being claiming JSA? A rapid reclaim?
As long as they have evidence that you are no longer employed - letter from employer/JSA award letter - then they should put the full HB claim back in place.0 -
You may be able to inform the council of a change of circumstances on line - like this example
http://www.northlincs.gov.uk/council-tax-benefits-and-housing/benefits/existing-claims/change-of-circumstances/
It is possible that the HB may be suspended whilst the council sort out the non dependent deduction but don't worry they will backdate any HB when it is sorted.
If this happens just let the landlord know what is happening.0
