why must i accept and pay for bankers draft when i am happy to receive a cheque?

  • As an executor she cannot charge him for the bank draft, which become an expense to the estate so will reduce the amount received by the residual beneficiary. If the will gives him a specific amount that is what he must receive, and if she failes to do that then she can end up in a bit of bother.

This was seven years ago, and was provoked by Clarkson being the big-mouthed idiot that he is. The DD guarantee would have been available to him to recover his money, but he did the honourable thing and made a donation.

How many of the over 23.3 billion DDs that have been processed since 2008 have been fraudulent?
  • Or, if we're aiming for sticking to guns rather than absorbing the cost of the draft, why doesn't the OP pay the draft fee, then immediately invoice the estate for the same amount? :rotfl:

    Just saying...

I have used Facebook messages to pass on bank details to and from friends and family when contributing to birthday presents and so on, over a period of years. Never had any problems.

surely she can either write a cheque or ask for the amount to be withdrawn in a cheque made payable to him? Or am i missing something?

There is obviously a serious lack of trust between these siblings if the brother won't give his sister his bank details. I guess the sister is equally paranoid and doesn't want to send a cheque because if she does her bank details will be available to her brother.
  • If the account is an Executor account then a cheque drawn on that account will not reveal anybody's personal account.
