Hello,
I have an NVidia GeForce GT 620 graphics card and a Hannspree XM monitor....my problem is my PC no longer recognises my monitor and lists it as a generic non-pnp monitor and wont let me select a screen resolution above 1024 x 768
Any ideas how to correct this anyone? Have rolled back drivers, tried a system restore even updated to win 10 but still stuck on 1024 x 768.

Any chance you use VGA cable?0

VGA cable shouldn't matter, they can do similar resolutions to DVI.
the issue with not detecting a monitor is usually down to the graphics drivers. Id suggest downloading the latest from nvidia and reinstalling them.
you could also check device manager and see what it lists as your gpu0 -
With my previous computer I was unable to get full 1920x1200 resolution until I changed VGA cable to DVI.0

VGA can support upto 2048×1536.
althou some tv's with vga ports in them limit the resolution, but it'll still give you something like 1360x768 (could be the same for some monitors)
would still get you higher than 1024 thou. 1024x768 is the maximum resolution for the generic graphics drivers0 -
Some monitors require a driver for them to be recognised.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Having already updated to windows 10 suggests its NOT a software issue to me. I would be looking at changing cables and/or ports:idea:0
