Shortest DY line?
Is this the shortest DY line in the country?
It has been like that for years, even repainted a while back.

I think I saw one that was shorter in the news once, but can't remember where.
My only thought is that traffic regularly backs up to that point so having a car parked there would stop traffic, particularly given that this is a bus route.0 -

No, if you spin the street view you will see the bus stop is set back and there is never,(to my knowledge), back ups going that way, but why did they not just continue the line as anyone can park between the lines if there is no vehicle on the drive, (although common sense says you shouldn't).
So I see, how anyone with brains could do that defeats me.

I always thought you just didn't park infront of a driveway (unless it is your house or you know the owner and have permission).

Seems it is up to the council/police for each area to come up with their own rules though. Interesting.0 -

i think you'll find that it's to assist cars on that drive to pull out and do a left turn safely. If a car is parked on that double yellow it would mean that the car would need to drive straight forward and drive their car blindly into oncoming cars and potentiall have to block 3 lanes of traffic to successfully do a left turn.0 -

yes you probably did and to answer the !!!!!! comments on dailymail how this is pointless, it is not. If the leave it unpainted or put a single yellow in, it would mean a car can place its wheel just outside of the disabled bay (where the double yellow is now). If that happens on both side it could render the disabled bay unsable because there's not enough space to park.0 -

Rubbish, like highways assist motorists, what about the adjacent driveways, no DL lines there. If you are correct why not just continue the line without the gap?
