Free standing fireplace

Hello fellow money savers,
I have been looking to get a fireplace for my house. There was a disused fire tray in the chimney before we moved with stones around it. We stones were very large and we wanted a minimalist looks so get the stones removed and plastered the whole area around it.

Now to cover the existing recess, we are looking to put a minimalist style electric fireplaces suite. Shopping around I found there are some free standing ones available. Wanted to know if anyone has had experience of them? Are they stable enough?

Thanks for your help.

They are made so they are stable, so you shouldn't have any issues.

But why don't you also go into your local fireplace retailer and choose a surround and fire separately? You can design your own and make it a unique, personal style to suit your taste and home.

Maybe a little dearer, but at least 1000+ other people wont have the same.
  • Thanks rustyboy,

The price difference is huge and installation isn't coming out to be cheaper either. I think I will do and have a look at these at a showroom first just to find out how it looks like but if I can get something that I can just unpack and put in place, I would love to get it.
