Natwest - feel wrongly overdrawn, help!

Options
Hi All,

I am hoping you won't read this and think not another overdrawn complaint but here goes.

So i deposit the money into the natwest cash machine on the morning of the 18th. During the day i did some payments with that money online. It must have been in my account for me to have started to make the payments otherwise i would have waited for the funds to have appeared.

Now i receive my statement and its showing as the money was deposited on the 19th even though in the ref it mentions 18th. Can I argue this charge? If it was available in my account online and i made the deposit on the 18th im confused why im being charged as being overdrawn? i thought those cash machines in branch clear the funds immediately? ive tried looking for my actual receipt of this deposit but i dont have it, but even on the statement it refs 18th. Any help please? thanks!

Last time I used ATM to deposit a cheque it warned me that it would take an extra day.

For Natwest and cash, it took me 30 seconds to find:
Deposits made before 3.30pm on a working day (Monday to Friday except Bank Holidays) will be processed on that day.

So, as it was in the morning, start with asking for for an explanation.

This is one of the reasons I ditched NatWest; you'd pay money in before the 3.30pm "cut off" but would have to wait until the next working day to complete transactions (to avoid overdraft fees).

As Grumbler points out speak to NatWest about why the funds weren't cleared until the 19th and that you'd like your charges to be refunded.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.
