p.i.p audit

hi all..
im just new so bear with me if I ramble on!

I went for a pip assessment yesterday, then spoke to atos this morning and they told me my assessment had been sent for an audit and it would now take an extra few weeks to be passed to dwp, but no one would say what the audit meant

whats the 'audit' for? should I be worried

thank you

It purely means that they're being checked to see if they're doing their job correctly. They very often do random checks and you were unfortunate that the check fell on your file. Nothing to worry about at all! Once they're done with auditing, your file will be sent back to DWP. It simpy means that decision on your claim will take a little longer, as you were told.
  • thank you Poppy..
ive never dealt with pip before, so was a bit worried what audited meant, when I spoke to atos, they said it means the assessor was only new so was being checked, then was told by someone else that I meant id have to have another assessment, and by someone else at atos that an audit meant it was now with the dwp and they audit it!

    very confusing!

It's highly unlikely you'll have another assessment or that your case will take much longer to decide. Auditing is usually done by both ATOS and then sent to DWP and it's completely random.
It doesn't mean anything and don't be worried.

Incidentally why did you contact ATOS the day after your assessment?
