Halifax - £100 & £5pcm

Hi everyone,
Quick question....
I'm looking to open a Halifax reward account to get the £100 & £5pcm but I'm not looking to close down any of my existing current accounts.
Can I still open this account without using the switching service? Or should I open a second current account with First direct, get some standing orders setup then move it across in a coulple of weeks?

    Do the T&C say anything about standing orders?

    If you want the £100 no. If you just want the £5 monthly then yes as long as you set up direct debits.

    Ok that's a shame. I'll have to check if it has to be DD or if it can be standing orders.
