I weigh about 8stone 12-13 or so ... not sure, I was 9stone3 and now my jeans are falling off me as I've not eaten so many sweeties for the last month or so ....

I eat junk, rubbish, nothing healthy at all. I don't know what's in food, I don't look, I don't really care. But I DO have a vague idea about how many calories are in things .... and I am mindful that if I eat too much then I will put weight on. Right now I'm not bothered enough about eating to eat very much, but that's also because I know Xmas is coming and if I lose half a stone now then I can enjoy putting that back on with a lot of gratuitous scoffing of sweeties, crisps and nuts :)

I've no time for "healthy eating". I see how people believe they are eating healthily, but they're fooling themselves. Watching Secret Eaters shows some of these people up.... "cooking from scratch" and "home cooking" don't automatically mean "healthy" - and, for many, it can mean "license to pile the most food onto the biggest plate and scoff it with a big spoon".

I am just happy that, while my diet is probably lacking (in the opinion of the very loud/opinionated) ..... at least I know when to say STOP to food.

No time for healthy eating? Healthy eating can be as quick anything. Salads are the easiest and quickest things to prepare. Cook some chicken/salmon/tuna in oven for about the same time you cook chips for and have it with some pre bagged salad if you're too lazy to cut up lettuce!

That's my lazy healthy meal, salad, jacket potato and some sort of protein.

Having that 'stop eating button' is a good thing to have, a lot of overweight people struggle with that.

My big weight mistake was doing crash diets without exercise, it meant I lost a lot more muscle instead of fat and now it's harder to lose weight (as well as getting older). So I now go to the gym and do cardio and weights and more protein - especially after the gym.

I think I eat pretty healthily but at 11 stone 5 am just a fraction over the normal BMI range for my height at 5'6". I don't look overweight though - am a small size 12/large size 10 with a flat tummy.

Like you I am just outside of the normal weight range. I'm 166 cm (about 5'5?) and weighed about 7 stone 10 when I went for a health check up (about the only time I ever step on the scales, lol). I was told by the healthcare assistant that my BMI should be 22, which would probably mean putting on a stone and a half, which I've no idea how to do and she didn't help much in that regard either!

I think they are just told to tell the patient off ("give advice") about something. and as she couldn't get me on being too fat she decided to attack me for being too thin instead. I kind of regret going because it got me really worried.

I thought of posting up a list of things I eat, but that might get a bit boring for other readers of the thread. Like I said before, we tend to have the same 6 or 7 meals, but they are I think quite healthy, on the whole. I'm not a food freak, lol, don't eat macrobiotic or anything lke that, but I do cook from fresh most nights and we eat mainly veg, with some dairy and legumes for protein.

I have no idea what I weigh although I'm slim. My weight varies probably by a few kg here and there, but I just follow whether my clothes fit or not. If they get a bit tight, the dog gets longer faster walks and I use a smaller plate for a couple of weeks. If clothes are a bit loose, I up my food intake.

I tend to have honey nut corn flakes (store's own) or porridge made with milk for breakfast. I have either left overs for lunch or a cheese toastie - a winter thing as it's warm and tasty. For dinner I make a variety of dishes, from Shepherd's pie to roast chicken, salmon salad to spag bol. Basically, whatever I fancy. I do make sure I have plenty of veg and I use full fat milk, cream and butter in my cooking.

I don't eat Gluten due to severe IBS and the only thing to ease it for me is to not eat Gluten or wheat. I don't eat much bread anyways and I use GF pasta as and when. I think I have a healthy attitude to food as I eat to live and not live to eat. I don't have "bad" or "good" foods, just everything in moderation. I've learned to cook through trial and error and I think I'm getting good at it.

Risotto is my go-to dish, especially when I haven't got much in the cupboards. Not necessarily healthy due to the amount of butter I use but I do work it off by being active. I love most veg and eat more veg than fruit. I also use a lot of spice in my food, especially chillies, which apparently helps one's metabolism.

Sorry, this has turned into an essay. My dinner tonight was Sweet Potato Crisps (don't bother, they're horrid), chocolate and wine :rotfl:

I've decided that my last couple of months have been quite unhealthy and a scan at the doctor's proves it! I definitely have to make healthier choices! More spinach, sweet potato and salmon as oppose to chips and processed stuff.

I also need to ensure I keep my exercise levels up, I've not gone as often as I used to. I was going to start that this week, until I got tonsillitis!

Go and have a read of that thread where posters give their menu plans for the full week. That will give you a good idea for what everybody is eating, and give you ideas for things to do yourself.

I watched the TV programme tonight where the doctor moves in with a family for a week and changes the way they live. What an inspiration.
I don't eat too much during the day, have an OK dinner and then a pudding, then chocolate, a couple of biscuits a bag of crisps.
So I have redone my online shop, loads of veg and healthy food, I'm going to see if I can put some good habits in and get a headstart for the new year. Starting now.....

What i found sad about that programme was towards the end,the doctor did a test to show the damage that smoking was doing, the man said he didn't enjoy it, and he didn't know why he did it, but still he wouldn't give it up.

I have a pretty healthy diet but do tend to each too much so I have been on a diet for the last 6 months and am nearly at my goal, just 5 lbs to go. I am aiming for 11st but I am 5'11" so that puts me at a 12ish on top and a 12 or 14 depending on style on the bottom. Ironically even when I was carrying 2 extra stone earlier in the year I was still in mostly the same clothes - they were just pretty snug!
Breakfast is usually a tiny portion of all bran golden crunch padded out with blueberries & raspberries & skimmed milk, small pink grapefruit juice and a tea. I don't like/tolerate dairy so don't eat cheese, eggs, much milk and then only skimmed.
Crisps are a big weakness but I have massively cut down. I don't eat sweets or chocolate apart from the occasional mini daim bar if I really fancy something sweet. No puddings, I would always choose a starter if I wanted 2 courses in a restaurant.
I work from home so lunch is often leftovers but they are pretty healthy as that is what we have left. I am not a fan of bread so rarely have it.
I don't eat a lot of fruit but have plenty of veg.
Friday night is curry night though - with a couple of cans of Strongbow to mark the end of the working week. Can't be good all the time!
