I always get it but in the last couple of days badly. We all love the sun but the sun doesn't love me  Anyway I've got Benadryl for the outside ( rub the cream on ) and Loratadine for the inside ( one tablet daily ). But the itching is driving me mad  What do other people who get this do ? I mean DIY remedies - cold baths, oil of bats, eye of newt ...... I'm rambling .... it's the itching .....

Prevention is better than cure.
Easy to say - hard to do - stay OUT of the sun. Cover up. Your wrinkles will be fewer too.
I say it, I don't do it! and - oh! - the itching drives me mad. Tepid water & lots of it is my only answer.
Why has no one given you a helpful response? I was hoping for the wisdom of MSE!!!0 -
I think cammomile lotions is supposed to be good as a topical measure.
I guess you would find it at Boots.
Seem to remember it dries white.Whether you think you can, or think you can't, you are usually right.0 -
I used to suffer from prickly heat pretty badly and believe it or not the thing that worked for me was pure lemon juice!!! I know it sounds bizarre but for whatever reason it took the itchiness out of it. Hope it helps0

Aloe Vera can help. Both the drink and the gel.We all evolve - get on with it0

i find chlorpheniramine(piriton) is better than loratidine for the extreme itching! (though beware if driving etc, as can make you sleepy)!Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.....0

We used to get it a lot when we lived in the tropics. The Pharmacy had this powder called Salvatis powder. Worked great.
Try this ?????????????? Simple, but have no idea if it worksNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Hi folks....good for all types of itching is ordinary Bicarbonate of Soda in the bath water. I found it when my three had chicken pox at age four yr, three yr & five months. We have sensitive skin too, so it really works very well. HTHFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

NOTE PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO FREEZING TEMPUTATURES ON YOUR SKIN ARE NOT GOOD FOR YOU0
