Headboard Crises - HELP!

It does sya the eternal trim to be fitted on site. Would this include the trim around the individual pockets?

I can see that there might be difficulty having squares as the first headboard is square but the second is wider than long hence the area might not work with squares.

No it is only the external trim, i.e. around the entire frame and not the individual rectangular shapes.

If it were to be around the entire frame AND the individual rectangular ones I would be happy if it was solid and not some flimsy thing. I wouldn't want some flimsy surround anyway as this has been very expensive.
  • what i wanted is so much nicer headboard than what i did not want, hope you get it sorted

I'd stick to email communications for now.

Just reply to her and say that further to your initial call on monday after receiving the picture of the headboard, you've just checked your emails and there is definitely nothing notifying you of any variations and that perhaps she is confusing you with another customer as you wouldn't have accepted the intended variations as its not to your taste and considerably different from what you actually ordered.

Thus if everything breaks down later on, you'll have something in writing that supports your case. That you were unaware until that point that alterations had been made, that you wouldn't have agreed to them had you been aware and that you immediately rejected it upon learning of the alterations.

How did you pay? Both the deposit & outstanding balance?

I paid both deposit and outstanding balance via Visa Debit Card.

As the order was not only for the headboard, do I simply not accept any of the items until the headboard issue has been resolved? (I was REALLY looking forward to a brand spanking new bed (mattress)).

Did you pay for the units separate or was it priced as a bundle?

If it forms part of a commercial unit (it was sold as a bundle/package) then you must reject all of it to reject the headboard.

If the items were priced individually, then you can accept some (the bed) and reject some (the headboard), accept them all or reject them all.

Not sure if your bank might help in the dispute (for goods not as described) if the retailer starts digging their heels in.

  • They were priced separately. So I think I will accept delivery of the mattress and and the storage bed.

I emailed her this morning, no reply as yet. So I will wait and see what she comes back with. But I also want to time box this process that it doesn't go on unnecessarily. If I've not heard back by close of business Monday I will email again and this time box it.

I prefer the Did not want pic.

But its down to personal preference.

That said, it differs quite substantially, and is not as described.

The question is, do you want to reject outright or is it still ok with a price reduction.

Both should be possible at this point.

Yes it IS down to personal preference. For me the "Did not want" pic reminds me of what I think a mental asylum looks like:eek:

I honestly just want to reject the headboard part of the order and receive the order with the caveat that they would be willing to to remake the Headboard. For me I just do not want that other headboard as I would be settling, I do not want to settle. I've paid too much money for me to just settle.

Now thinking about it, I don't even think I could realistically accept the storage bed too, because the material used as a cover for the base matches the headboard material. :(

I'm avoiding calling as I no longer want to discuss anything over the phone and want to create a paper trail in trying to resolve this, but still no response.

I agree that what you have got is nothing like what you ordered, so would indeed be rejecting it, and either getting a full refund for the headboard, or having another made to specification.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
