I wanna refit my bathroom

Options
Four options:
1) change taps and fittings and add a hand shower.
2) new 3 piece suite with new fittings & electric shower, shower to be fitted on the same wall as sink. Swap sink and toilet.
3) new 3 piece suite with new fittings & mixer shower
4) change boiler, thus removing the tank in the closet next to the sink and installing a small shower unit, replacing fittings.

I have about 3K max to spend on this project including installation but I'm just not sure what is sensible to do. The bathroom is small and is the only one in our 2 bed house. I really want a shower as I hate baths. Can anyone recommend anything?

    Hi

    I would do ;

    5) Change boiler, take out cupboard, move bath to that wall with tap end at the former cupboard end with bath/shower mixer.Move basin next to WC.

This will cost more than 3K I suspect.

A bit cheaper than moving the boiler altogether; Could you change the door to open outwards or have a bi-fold door? Then you could shift the toilet towards the door and fit a showerbath like this one:

Ideally, you would move the boiler, yes. But I still wouldn't install a seperate shower as the room would still be cramped. I'd move the toilet over to the left instead.

A showerbath would be ideal for you. :D

Good afternoon: Do you have a heated towel rail or rad in the bathroom at the moment i.e. behind the door or beside the basin?

What's the boiler like? If it's fairly new and reliable I'd leave well alone.

    If it were me:

Add new taps, tiles, vinyl flooring and bog seat. Paint walls a pale colour. Add a power shower and screen. Add a few trendy accessories.

Spend the money saved on something else. At the end of the day you don't spend a huge amount of time in a bathroom. Why spend huge amounts of money on it?

Yes, there's a radiator behind the door. But the room is so small, it doesn't really need it.

I measured the space where the existing sink is now, next to the imersion heater closet (sorry I think I said boiler was there) and its less 1500mm, but its close 1493mm. So I don't think it would fit that way. I like the idea of the shower bath and changing the door. My only concern is the stupid window. Will it be a problem showering and having the water falling on it, after tiling it up? Thanks

    Hi

It would be a mistake not to have a radiator ,or some form of heat in a bathroom.
How deep is that cupboard ?
One thing to consider, if you fit a bath under the window or have the shower at that end , how do you obscure the window at night?

If you get a good tiler and tile the room right up high and round the window then there's no chance of water getting in at all. Bathrooms look lovely when they are entirely tiled anyway.

Obscuring the window entirely may well be an issue. You can still have the showerbath with the shower to the left instead of the right and move the sink next to the toilet, but you'll have to move two wastes instead of one? Bit more expensive than moving the boiler altogehter.

Whatever you do, buy all of your own fittings and ask someone to simply do the work for you. It will work out cheaper and you will get what you want, instead of what someone else interprets. Ideally, I would try to move the boiler as the room will feel bigger without it.

my parents have this same suite and their gold taps went bad after 4 months.

Theres nowt wrong with the white stuff. I would replace the bath panel. With a tiled version. retile whole bathroom still whith cheap white tiles but put a strip or 2 of small colour glazed tiles going around the whole room and change shower for a more powerfull version with a new door as well.
