Argos Price Rises Today

How odd ... everything I put in my Argos online basket last night has gone up in price overnight.

Panasonic TV was £249.99 now it's £269.99
Star Wars Battlefront (PS4) was £42.00 now it's £44.99
Fifa16 (PS4) was £42.00 now it's £45.99

I wouldn't mind. But their website says the tv was previously £299.99, that the Star Wars game was previously £54.99. They don't give a previous price for the Fifa game.

!!!!!! ?! I know you'd have to be an incurable optimist to think prices will always come down. But why do they blatantly lie about the "was previously" prices ?

Was it the end of a special offer period perhaps?
  • I bought the Star wars game about 4 days ago and it was £44.99 then. Morrissons does have it for £42 though.

They'e running a Black Friday event, like many other online retailers. I can't remember seeing any fine print though to say the event was ending or that prices were going up this morning. In fact their website says the event ends Tuesday 1st December.

I've just mentioned it to a friend, he says a Toshiba tv he was looking for has gone up in price by £50 overnight. Weird pricing strategy. Anyway. My gripe is their "was previously" prices are a load of tosh. I should've bought it all last night but I got waylaid. Boohoo.

A was price has to be active on the website for at least 28 days before it can be used by Argos in a was price promotion.

It may have been cheaper yesterday but these products were once sold at the previous higher price so they can state that price on the website.

A lot of the black friday deals this week have been daily deals. So its possible they were only on offer for 1 day
  • As stated above some prices have 1 day sale as its black friday then they put the prices back up.

that's how they cash in on the black Friday thing. they make people believe they're getting a bargain.

only you are if it's something you've wanted/are waiting on and know the RRP.
