Have I got virus protection?

Hello,

Can someone help me please....I had mcafee protection for a year and that ran out so I bought another years worth...alls good according to my account...I have all I need.

Yesterday it started flagging up that my virus scan has expired....I only downloaded it in June. So I checked my account and it has a big green tick saying my computer is up to date and all that and no further action is required...but this pop up thingy keeps appearing when I switch the pc on.

All it says is that irs expired and to press renew or renew later.....I asked the question on the mcafee website but no one has answered.

My question is...do I just ignore the pop up warning and carry on as normal?

you do have virus protection, but it doesnt have the latest updates for some reason.

have you tried running a manual update?

last update when I checked was 23/8/07...

right I went to update and all that is popping up is the virus scan thing...it says updates are available....but I have to renew???????????????

i would ditch mcafee when it runs out and go with avast - much better , is free yearly for home use and u get feedback on their support forums too

There isn't a phone number or email address...I've hunted and hunted for it..you have to download some kind of help????

But someone said today that if I take it off then installed it again it might work better...but I'm gonna still hunt down that number!!LOL

OMG found the number in about 3 mins!! This morning I spent a good few hours looking for it!!LOL Can't phone til tomorrow though...but thanks for the suggestions!!

If that doesn't work, try the"No" link at the bottom to go to their live help section. Not sure if it will work tomorrow as it's a bank holiday, but it might divert to the USA office if you're lucky.
