I bumped a parked car last night, which was a stupid enough thing to do, but then I might have done something even worse, I didn't take the other driver's details. I really don't know what was going through my mind, but it wasn't until we both left the scene that I realised that I should have taken her details (she got mine). I'm wondering what this means about my insurance? I probably wasn't going to claim for my car anyway, but will I still be covered for the damage to the other car? Which was a broken rear light and a dent.

I know that I should ring my insurance company very soon, but I might hang on this morning to see if she rings me, because she only took my name address and number, she may also want details of my car and my insurer.

Assuming she took your reg number too she already has all the info she needs to report it to her insurance company and has no need to contact you.

I just notified my insurance company, and they said not getting the other driver's details isn't an issue.
