Wonder if a nyone can help as if explaining to a 6 year old. Please how do I control my central heating with a digital controller ? Mine seems to have a mind of it's own, it sometimes turns on high at midnight. I would really like to be able to just turn it on or off at the temperature I choose, like I could with the old fashioned on-off switch with a dial for the temperature.Hope one of you can help me .

Does the controller have Water ON/Heating ON/ All Day type buttons?

Even better can you give us make and model number

Are you referring to a digital thermostat or just a digital timer?

Look up the model on the net and find the instructions.

If it's like mine you have to set each day, or set one day and copy the details to the other days otherwise you find that you have actually only set one day. Then it does seem to have a life of its own as each day is set differently.

As others have said, post up the make/model of your controller.

As the heating is coming on in the middle of the night this suggests the timing is incorrectly set. If it has 5 time zones, then setting zone 5 to exactly the same settings as zone 4 will stop this, provided zone 4 is set to shut off sometime in the evening.

You need to post up the make/model of your controller, or a link to a closeup picture of the thing.
