In my opinion, Vicki, the blogger of Honest Mum, is really lovely and I don't think she would have been dis-honest in choosing the winner.
At the moment she's doing a good job of not looking very honest - deleting the winner announcement post and blatently ignoring someone on twitter who has tweeted her 4 times questioning the result.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
Hi, I just contacted Vicki and she told me that it was a genuine human mistake and she will be doing a recount next week. She has contacted the recipient. She sends her apologises.
So hopefully all will be sorted by next week and the winner will be revealed:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -

Unless you know her personally in real life (Not just online) you cannot know for sure how honest or dishonest some bloggers are. As said before with deletions and other stuff happening since, looks very dishonest.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

If a new winner is announced next week then that will prove that Vicki is honest:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Vicki has updated her blog post: http://honestmum.com/guess-the-value-of-my-luxury-beauty-haul-win-the-entire-hamper-with-e-on/
She writes:
Sincere apologies a genuine human mistake was made by myself Vicki of Honest Mum and the incorrect winner was chosen. A new winner will be drawn randomly from the accurate guess of £289.95 next week by Friday 4th December 2015. The amount also was not £289.60 as originally posted either (I’ve just rechecked the final receipt). I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. Thank you.":TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -

If someone gets caught stealing then hands the goods back to avoid prosecution it hardly means they were "honest" in the first place.
(Just making the point that any action now proves nothing but given how the winner and detailed amounts were displayed I would assumes as she stated it was just human error in the first place)0 -
Great news from Vicki, the blogger - the first winner can keep the haul of prize goodies and another haul of prize goodies will be sent to the 'real' winner when Vicki and the PR have had time to check through all the entries!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I was "the winner" of this competition, I had an WEM from Vicki and then received the bundle of stuff yesterday.
I was totally unaware there were any problems with my guess so I was really upset and shocked when I received an email asking me to return the prize as my guess was not the closest, I had done nothing wrong.
When I googled problems with competition prize this thread came up along with others, I didnt reply last night as I wanted to check a few things out.
After a few emails today, Vicki and E.ON Energy are sending the true winner (Closest guess) an identical prize bundle and I get to keep the one I have. Please be assured this was a genuine human error, Vicki & E.ON have been very sympathetic and generous allowing me to keep this prize
ETA I am in no way connected with E.ON or Vicki just hoping to clear things upbest wins: £750, Bugaboo Bee £500 BAA Vouchers, GHD's XBox Kinect & Wii

Thanks for the replies - I guess sometimes I'm just too curious for my own good or I feel like I just need to check I'm not losing my marbles and getting easily confused!
Thank you BlueBella for contacting Vicki and relaying her responses
I'm very sorry Helen if my posting here led to the email being sent that upset you, that certainly wasn't my intention at allI'm really glad you get to keep your prizes too

It was upsetting, but not your fault the email was sent, competitions should be fair and follow their own terms and conditions, I like to think that when I enter competitions I have a chance of winning, anything that seems wrong should be queried.
As I say Im sure this was a genuine mistake, and although it was handled badly initially all sorted nowbest wins: £750, Bugaboo Bee £500 BAA Vouchers, GHD's XBox Kinect & Wii
