    Well,

    mcmscsvc.exe flicks from 20 - 99 cpu, memory 5'220K
system idle process flicks from 28 - 98, memory 28K

CPU Usage (at the bottom of the TM window) flicks from 20% - 100%

This means nothing to me, I don't know what 'mcmscsvc is...:confused::confused::confused::confused::D

    Hi,
Have you checked the activity on your firewall?

  • Your problem is discussed here: Link

...but it's a bit inconclusive. Ensure you have the latest version of the McAfee application software (NOT virus definitions) installed. You could do a complete removal and re-install of McAfee. See here:

    Hi,
Firewall, have a look and see if PC is spending its time sending files out.
Which one do you have, I am sure someone will be able to tell you how to check it.

    Hi,

Just wanted to say thanks to you all for your advice and help, I've followed what you've said and something seems to have worked for the better :j

The most noticeable difference came once I got rid of Mcafee and installed Avast - it's like new again, fast, no 'orange light' on constantly!

Anyway, thanks a lot for helping me guys, appreciated! :T :T :T
